Moxifloxacin
Indications/Uses
Bacterial conjunctivitis caused by susceptible strains in patients ≥1 yr.
Dosage/Direction for Use
Instill 1 drop in affected eye tds for 7 days.
Contraindications
Hypersensitivity to moxifloxacin or other quinolones.
Special Precautions
Discontinue use if allergic reactions occur; at 1st sign of tendon inflammation. Not to be inj subconjunctivally or introduced directly to anterior eye chamber. Overgrowth of nonsusceptible organisms including fungi. Not to wear contact lens if w/ signs & symptoms of bacterial conjunctivitis. Avoid contact w/ applicator tip. Concurrent use w/ corticosteroids. May affect ability to drive & use machines. Pregnancy & lactation. Infants <1 yr. Elderly.
Adverse Reactions
Eye pain & irritation.
